Casual, smart, scruffy?
Do you put make up on before you will face the world?
Have you changed the way you dress over the years?
Our appearance is what people judge us on in the first 30 seconds they meet us for the first time.
Our "window" portrays our personality........ so what does yours say?
I have nearly always been a casual type of dresser, probably because I have been my own boss most of my working life, therefore smart suits have not been necessary in my work environment.
Smart casual during my working day has always been preferable to "done up to the nines".
I even went to see the bank manager for a loan to purchase my business and premises wearing a pair of blue jeans!! Horror of horrors!!!! (my mother hated blue jeans!!) ........ p.s. I didn't even have a business plan!!..... just lots of self confidence and the ability to express myself face to face. Yes I did get it..... so what I was wearing was irrelevant in that circumstance. Don't think it would work nowadays though!!
The reason for these questions was because I went out for lunch the other day. The restaurant was very upmarket. The Mai·tre d' was in a very smart suit, he was also one of the owners. The waiters had bow ties, the service reflected how they dressed. The food was "dressed" ........ it was exceptionally well presented.
However, I had on a pair of black denims and a casual top. Did I feel out of place? At first perhaps, then I thought, no....... I am smart!
Do you sometimes feel as though you are not dressed for the occasion?
