As we know the cells in our body are regenerating every day. If they didn't we would be blind in 10 minutes and dead in 24 hours. The macula in the back of the eye completely regenerates in minutes!
Now this regeneration takes place to a blueprint, which means the data for everything you are, is stored in DNA.
Our DNA can be damaged by eating junk foods, radiation and drugs......this is when things start to go wrong!
Each DNA has a data counter called a telomere, this counts down every time our cells regenerate. Depending on the strength of your DNA, depends whether you have a greater or lesser count i.e. a longer or shorter lifespan!
So... after reading this book, and being aware of there being stem cell research going on...... how far have they actually got?
Have they managed to change the telomeres so they don't keep counting down?
Will they be able to 'cure' heart conditions, alzheimer's, cancers?
Will we have everlasting youth?
Are the researchers playing God?
what are your thoughts?
ps the book was a good read... especially since it was free!!!
